It is our first chinese new year away from home. Surprisingly, I feel neither sad nor homesick. May be I know that I am doing this because of my best friend or may be I know that I am not so far away from home?! Yes, I will be home in 2 weeks time. It is after the 15th day of CNY. The party is long gone. However, without the festival, I might get time and opportunity to have a better look at Penang after 3 years away from it.
The past four days have not been any less fun. We are learning how to have a Chinese New year without our families and familiarity. The celebration is modeled based on our habitual practices from home. One of the best things was food. We can manage them very well. That just makes me wondering whether would we learn to do it if we are not away from home...
