Donkoi's German colleague, nicknamed Mr Frog, is heading back to Dresden as the assignment contract is about to due in the beginning of the August. Thus, his neighboura organized him a home farewell party yesterday night.
When we arrived at his house, there were at least 15 big party bowls crowded his kitchen counter top. Wines and beers were definitely not missing from the party. After the dinner, Mr Frog's friend entertained the crowd with his accordion. The accordion sounded like the background tune, which you could hear in the Ratatouille cartoon. I did imagine myself strolling down a street with the Eiffel Tower in sight and probably a Louis Vuitton swinging on my shoulder.
The only thing to make yourself less weird in the social event is to keep on talking. Each of the conversations were interesting because the guests were constituted by different walks of people. There were Germans with a mixed of Americans originated from different states across the America. Everyone had some stories about themselves. Of course, they showed interest in our background too.
As the guests slowly left Mr Frog's house in the later part of the night, we moved the party to the backyard of the house. The fire plate was stuffed with woods as we circulated it to continue our story sharing and star gazing while the mosquitos greedily made their intimate contact with the skin. Mr Frog's neighbor mentioned a few ironic phrases in English, which I would share here to end this entry - alarm went off (actually means alarm has rung), drive at the parkway, park at the driveway. :)
