Maestro's at the Van Dam

We were not celebrating anything that very night we went to Maestro's. It was just another ordinary weekday that Donkoi was feeling to spend. And, I played along by forgetting our tight monthly budget. Of course, I wear my one and only BCBGMAXAZRIA size 2 black dress in the closet. With the bless from God, I have not grown too much to fail to fit into the dress.

Before leaving home

The restaurant was really crowded when we arrived. We were being placed at a dark corner. Besides the seating, we were a bit offended when the waitress pointed at the house pour wine menu while we were browsing through the wine list and asking for the recommendation. However, we just brushed off the incident by teasing each other that we can't really hide our poor status under all the fancy attires. :) We ended selecting a bottle of lush and lavish Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which was about $40. We enjoyed it to the last drop. It had been a while since we enjoyed a whole bottle of wine during our dinner.

Our wine from Napa Valley

While waiting for our dinner, we were served with sesame biscuits, beans, bread and butter. By the time our chilled melon avocado soup was on our table, we were no longer hungry anymore. There was a long wait in between the soup to our actual entree. We just sat in the dark discussing our incoming house moving. How romantic?! Hahaha. Anyway, the entrees were worth the patience because they were awesome. I loved my grilled hanger salad, especially the steak were prepared in medium rare. It fulfilled my craving for juicy beef! Donkoi's wild salmon went perfectly with the bed of black beluga lentils. After finishing both our entrees, we decided to pack our desserts home. We left the restaurant at around 10pm after burning a hole in Donkoi's wallet. Wink. ;)
