Char Koon is voted as the best Asian food restaurant at Saratoga Springs, New York by my "chef crew". Before I arrived at Saratoga Springs, the crew had adventured at many different Asian restaurants and found this hidden gems at Saratoga Springs downtown, along Broadway street. I have been there twice within two months. I was there with Donkoi the first time. My second trip was with all of our Malaysian friends when Han Keong visited me from Minnesota.
The restaurant chef is famous for his Thai cuisines, so, I ordered Thai food during my first visit. The green chicken curry was the best I ever had out of Thailand. The chicken was justly cook that I could feel the chicken tenderness when I bit it. The curry itself was cooked using fresh coconut instead of the usual packaged coconut. I believe that was the reason why the curry tasted exceptionally good.
Besides than the Thai cuisines, the Chinese dishes are quite well prepared too. During my second dining here, we had 8 people. We gave the authority to the restaurant boss to decide on our menu. Surprisingly, the Chinese dishes turned out beyond meeting our expectation. All the picky diners were at cloud nine that night. After the dinner, the boss gave us dessert samples, which were happily finished by the Malaysian boys. These poor souls have been missing good Chinese eateries since Saratoga Springs is 3 hours away from New York City. Of course, this is listed in our handbook as a must go "tourist spot" for all the visitors coming to Saratoga Springs. ^.^
