I was there last year one day before my birthday. Donkoi was superly generous on that night. He ordered quite a lot of things for two people. We ended up packing the Mario's special pizza, which was the best highlight of the restaurante. Even though I was "force fed" close to the end of the dinner, I enjoyed the food at this sidewalk restaurant. The bruschetta was good to the extend that I wish I can bite on Donkoi's share. The clam chowder was not on par with Boudin in San Francisco, but I love the similarity between the sourdough bread bowl between Mario's and Boudin's. I never fond of fettucini carbonara no matter how many times I tried, even Mario's failed to make me happy with it. According to Donkoi, that was not too bad.

Fast forward to last Saturday night, three of my colleagues and I went to Tanjung Bungah thinking of eating German Sausage at Ingolf. But, the restaurant was full. Oh no! We drove further up, until we reached Mario's. We went in and ordered 4 items. We got the Mario's special pizza as the first dish. Everyone enjoyed the cheese and the thin crust, which were quite different compared to Pizza Hut or Domino's. The next item was clam chowder and sourdough bread bowl. [;-) Then, we had the aglio olio, which was just plain aglio olio. Lastly, we split the chicken into 4 shares. The chicken was prepared in a way that retain the meat juicyness within the grilled skin. It was awesome when I chewed it slowly. It felt like medium done beef with chicken texture. I love it. Total bill for that night, inclusive of drinks and 15% tax was ~RM156/RM39 per head. RM39 is so worthwhile for the 1 hour gastronomic experience. :)
