I was the crew member for the Amazing Race 2009. The Amazing Race 2009 has three important objectives, which are:
1. To introduce charity organizations to the participants
2. To encourage environmental awareness
3. To learn about heritage
So, the activities in my assigned station was fulfilling the objective (3). Our station was located at Fort Cornwallis. The games in our station was playing guli-guli (marbles) and kite flying.
Honestly, I did not play any of these games when I was a kid. I was most of time doing kampung-kampung cycling exploration, run racing or jumping chi-chi-chom with my brother. Of course, we quarreled and fought among ourselves too. Then, we swore not to talk to each other ever again. Five minutes later, the swearing was forgotten, we were running together in the front yard.
I think we did try out kite flying once after reading about it for so many times. We tried out the kite flying was by using a plastic bag with a string attached to it. Of course, it was not a kite-flying experience. We were basically running in round in speed to run the kite. ^^
So, while I was at the station on last Saturday, I learned how to tie the kite correctly and fly the kite. It was quite fun to pull the string or release the string to control it and keep it flying up there. Definitely, I am going to ask people for kite flying soon~
Here are some of my favourite photos out of 100+.
Here the guli-guli game masters
Pretty girl~

Guarding the marbles
Participants are required to tie the kite themselves
A team playing guli-guli with the game masters
Uncle ignored us and continued reading his newspaper
My Ping Pong captain with his kite poking technique... -_<
This is the only team that have backup player. Kiasu.
These bunch of ex-scouts just stood aside while waiting for the girl to tie the string to the kite.
Addy just kept asking me to take photo for him when the participants were not around.
Sweat.
This kid is wearing the shirt in the same colour as us. "Little Bro, are you in the race too?"
This team went all out to achieve maximum point for their guli-guli.
Besides his own photo, I had to help to take photo of the pretty girls too~
Thanks to Addy's eagerness with the DSLR.
I managed to collect enough photo to make this collage.
More photo of the girls~
We went to try the Rojak Menjerit by the road side.
That was Hong Ann expression after tasting it.
Spicy stuff.
