Seri Cahaya Art Class

Entering the second day of my solitary routine. There are neither sense of satisfaction nor pride. I am simply happy by thinking nothing, uttering nothing and eating nothing. Yes, I skipped my dinner yesterday night by not feeling hungry and still not having my lunch now. My stomach must be insanely hibernating. Now, I can realize how much energy is needed to maintain a conscious mind to do communication or in a constant being watched environment. Don't worry. I am still logical as usual, showing my preference over a song by repeating the same song for at least 10 times now. Time to change to my another favourite song - I gotta feeling and start to stepping my feet according to the rhythm while my fingers continues dancing on the keyboards.

Back to the topic, this happened like a month ago. Sorry for sharing the photo late. But, it is better late than never. (I know I owe many my Thailand photo. Ha!)

As we plan out earlier, we went to Seri Cahaya to teach the kids on how to make a Japanese Paper Doll with all the recyclable items. In the beginning of the "class", the kids were quite obedient and listened attentively to the instructions. But, guess how long can the kids stay focus? May be less than 10 minutes. The class turned into a commotion with some curious kids asking random questions while some kids anxious to finish the dolls. Though it took a lot of patience to handle the kids, my endurance with their endless questions and requests surpassed my usual threshold.

Together with other colleagues of mine, we assisted the kid to complete their Japanese Paper Dolls base. During the process of decorating their dolls, the kids showed a high level of creativity with their own defination of beauty. I remembered one of the kid colouring the face of her paper doll in red. I was shocked when she showed me, but I smiled to her. Sometimes, it is pointless to judge anyone as everyone is unique in their own way and is quite unfair to mark them according to our own scorecard. Another interesting event was some of the kids thought of creating a holder for their doll. They collected the tree branch outside the house and started to stick the branch through the doll's kimono. Don't you think kids are cleverer in a way beyond adult's comprehension?

Even though it was just a short 2-hour visit, all of us had a good time. Sometimes, we don't need special reason to be happy. Ordinary itself is already a charm.

Time to cook lunch now... :)
