A few of my office friends and I were thinking of visiting Seri Cahaya again on this coming weekend. Instead of delivering food to their doorstep, we decided to do something, which would involve more interaction with the kids.
After 5 o'clock, Ann dropped in my cube to talk about what to share with the kids when we were there. Both of us agreed on teaching the kid how to make a Japanese Paper Doll.
Hence, after taking my shower and having the yummy pumpkin noodle at home, I began my research on how to make one Japanese Paper Doll. The last time I made one or the only one was in Primary school time. Even though my memory is not deteriorating, I don't exactly recall the whole process. Of course, Google is always handy to solve any brain-misplaced information. However, out of the sudden, it was as if there was a lightning striking in my head - where is my Japanese Paper Doll from my best friend in Primary school. I searched for it in my treasury box and found it! Unbelievable, after 15 years, it was still there. I can't recall exactly where is mine. Probably, I exchanged it with her after the art class. By staring at it, I had a mixed feeling. The feeling of gratefulness that I once had such a best friend in life, the guilt that I had never knew how to cherish this purest friendship when I was too young and the strong urge to talk to her again to check out how is she doing lately.

Putting aside the emotional moment - look at the picture below! That is my attempt using all the recycle items, which can be easily found around at home. Yes, I am going to influence the kids in believing "Recycle" too! Of course, the paper doll would be more pretty and authentic if using the origami paper. However, economic is not good! Blek!
By the way, we might have a crew of photographers following us in this coming weekend too. According to one of my colleagues, he is interested to take photograph of any charity event for a contest. The winning prize is a donation to the charity home, where the event is held. What a meaningful contest!!!
Anyone happen to be in Penang on this coming Saturday morning (tentative) and would like to help out in the "art" class, please feel free to leave me a message. :)
