Island Cafe Gurney Drive

Yesterday night was mama's kitchen off day. Thus, I invited my parents to go for food adventure at Island Cafe along Gurney Drive. It was a slow traffic night because the parents were taking their kids out late during the school holiday.

It took us around 40 minutes to reach our destination. Then, we spent 10 minutes to find a legitimate car park. At last, we found a spot inside Island Cafe compound for free. Lucky! ^^

The cafe was lit up with assorted colours of light bulbs to hip up the ambiance. Constant techno music surrounded the open air. The customers were dressed up as if they were going for clubbing. Female customers wore smokey eyes and carried expensive branded bag. My dad, my mum and I were in our Tai-Pai-Tong outfit. We were so out of place! ha!

After settling down at table 17, dad critized all the food items on the menu while flipping through the menu. Then, my dad and mum gave up in choosing the "youngster-not-healthy" food and assigning the food ordering task to me. We got a Nichisan instant noodle and baked cheese rice. As expected, the food was not exactly good for the price that we were paying. :(

However, the drink was reasonably priced. My mum fell in love with the RM7.90 Chocalate Milk Shake while I enjoyed my RM4.90 orange juice. As usual, dad was picky about anything under the sun and the moon. He disliked the Vietnam coffee. It was really difficult to cheer his taste bud... Fortunately, my mum somehow found her way to his stomach. Phew~**

The experience was not too enjoyable because we waited too long for our baked rice and the waiter missed my roti bakar. Besides, the serving attitude were quite rude. Even if you would like me to pay first after all the food had served, you should ask politely. It should not be just by throwing open the check book in front of me. Should I know what to do next?! Blek!

However, I was glad to see my mum nodding her head according to the beat of the background music. Although this was supposed to be pre-Father's Day celebration, my mum liked it more than my dad... haha, as usual! :-D
