It is located at one of the old houses along King Street. Each time when I am driving passed Esplanade, heading home from Gurney's shopping, I first observe the Great Eastern Penang Headquaters, followed by the glowing yellow alphabets "Sire". I had always been curious what is hiding behind the white facade. On last Saturday, the mystery was unveiled.
Walking in through an one-person-allowed-through door, vision was impressed by high ceiling with bowl-shaped hanging lights. Since the house was a prewar architecture, the layout of the ground floor was constituted by front hall, mid-hall and back-hall. At the mid-hall, there was a garden, which was covered with transparent roof. According to Aki, this was the favorite layout of Teong Chew people. [But, Donkoi's house doesn't have a garden...I wonder how true is that. Muahaha!] Wooden antiques and big vases with slender flowers filled up every available corners of the restaurant. Every bit of the decoration was attentive to details and lavishly done with the intention to inspire the diners.

If I have one, which is still in this proper condition, I will be grateful.
While waiting for the food to be served, we presented the birthday gift to Poay Ying and Aki. *I love to see people expression as they slowly unwrapped their surprises.*
Let's move away from our birthday gifts to the food, which I will paste a photo series to let you imagine the taste yourself. The food was good with the price was around RM50/head. It is a not-too-bad deal at all. He!

Mushroom soup, which is advisable for two.

Portebello Mushroom with vinegar that sent me to heaven.
I am a mushroom lover.
Mush-mush hmmph-hmmph.

My main course - Sizzling Tenderloin.
The food line-up was not thrilling, but the beef was damn fulfilling.

Teriyaki Salmon.

Lamb that drove Ling Pei talking about her lamb quest non-stop.

Apple Cream Brulee. Tasted it at last!
The last part of the day - cake cutting ceremony. That was an official mark to the late-twenties. {Boohaha!}
