Bon Odori 2008

The Esplanade area `aka` the new world heritage site was congested with cars. My little effort in solving this situation - I fit 4 people in my little kancil to park outside a sign board of "Merbahaya" illegal car park (by the way, that is Aki's favourite spot), simply because we do not want to pay unnecessary fee to unnecessary people.

By 8pm, we were in the middle of the field, seeing Japanese customary dancing performance. At least a hundred or two SLR cameras were surrounding the stage. With his very best in locating himself among the photo hungers, Donkoi got this photo for my blog. Love ya...

Receiving energy from the divine power?!

Besides the performance, there were stalls selling assorted of Japanese food. I was surprised to see the sushi king's conveyor belt outdoor. That was awesomely cool. The whole "eating" street were crowded with people. Queues were formed in front of the stalls. Occasionally, there were annoying people trying to cut queue. While I was in line for bubble tea, two hype girls attempted to cut queue. An Australian couple behind me said directly to them while thumbing to position behind them, "Do you mind?". At that moment, two things were running across my mind - Ashamed and I really should pick up this gut to say the same thing to those cut-queuer next time.

Outdoor sushi king!

We were sitting on the grass for our dinner. Perfect night picnic mode. Donkoi was a little bit concerning with the girlfriend with denim mini skirt. But, Piggy with 25 year+ experience being a girl, that was just a piece of cake for her. After the dinner, we went for shopping at the decorative item stalls. The friendly Japanese camera posers had excite the camera clickers.

She "conned" RM5 from Donkoi's purse but it was for charity.

After visiting all the stalls, we waited for Poay Ying's Kimono photo. (Yes, they even had an outdoor kimono outfit photography studio.) While waiting for it, we started to have fun with our digital camera, like what the young hypes normally do.

#3 - must not forget to take one with Mr Donkoi. *wink-wink*

We went off from the location before the event ended with beautiful fireworks. Reason #1 - Aki's healthy baby symptoms were all written on her face. Reason #2 - the traffic was going to be bad after the firework. While we were strolling to access our car, we saw photographers setting up their camera at all locations to catch the best glimpse of the going-to-happen fireworks. Later on, we heard the firework on the way sending Aki home. Then, we just stopped at the junction to watch it. Even it was just besides a small drain in front of a row of old houses, it was so romantic that I was hugging Donkoi from behind and saying the three magical words. Continually, we were looking at the sparkling colours excitedly painting the black skyline in total silent.
