After a good breakfast, we headed to Timpohon Gate (around 830am) to begin our six-hour hiking trip. Guides briefed us on the coming challenging journey before we enter the checkpoint of Timpohon Gate with our name tag.

Initially, we had to walk downward. It is a piece of cake.

Dooh, life started to get difficult afterwards.
Along the first 6km that we covered on the first day hike, we saw 7 huts with toilet and water supply. Remember I mentioned that it's no point carrying a few liters of water? You can make full use of the water by putting in the purifying pill. [if anything happened to you, don't sue me though] Besides the entertainment from big trees, monkey cups and flowers during the hike, we had a great companion, which totally hold no fear against human race. They would approach you or even hop on your hand with round brunette eyes, pleading for food. Aki actually bought a packet of M&M to take along with her to feed them.
Our KK hiking trip was just not usual compared to many ones. In the midway, Ling Pei's right shoe insole and outsole came apart. We used the shoe lace to bundled the two together. Then, the same went for Khai Ting. Luckily, she had spare shoes. It solved the problem. She donated her shoe laces for Ling Pei to tie her shoe.
Our last picture before we were showered by rain.
The rain had made the hike more difficult and slower. With poncho, we walked with extra care to avoid falling down. After one hour, my sport shoes were soak as if they were dropped into river. Jacket and pants were wet as well. However, we managed to reach the Laban Rata before 3pm. Faster than the normal record, yippe!

Our room with heater had been changed to drying area
p/s: our lousy tour agency failed to get two of this sort of rooms for all of us. Gentlemen along the trip gave the better/heated-conditioned room for the ladies to stay. Donkoi told me the next day that it was extremely cold at his room and he could barely sleep. Pitiful. Sob-sob.
