Happy 2014

2013 was not ideal. It was not a year with bed of dreams. It was another year of practical life for very ordinary me. There were always laundry to be done, bathroom to be washed and car to be fixed. Of course, there is no way the mountain pile of work and complex human relationship in the workplace would miss the list. The days come and go as routine as newspaper delivery. This typical repeating life seems to blend in the place I am at. This is 2nd time in my life that I know for sure that I doesn't belong to a place with no city hustles and bustles. It is also 2nd time in my life that I am made aware that the people you have around you has a beautifying effect to the place you don't think you will fit in.

Though I might not have a SUPER-ly awesome 2013, I must say that we are blessed in so many ways with little surprises installed here and there for Donkoi and I. Donkoi and I finally moved into the first house under our ownership. The house provides us all the features that we would not get back home. There is a small backyard for gardening to happen and a WEBER to grill for our friends in the warm seasons as well as for the snow to get accumulated in the winter to show our families on the skype what is the 10 inches of snow means. A pair of skylight window in the living room, which supplies ample light to lit up the space. A loft to steal a quiet moment to observe the party from the top. A bay window to read while having a peek over our driveway. The house is perfect to add more unexpected life experiences for us.

As many of you know, we are both the strong believers of the "To travel is to live". In 2013, we went to Toronto, Ottawa and most interestingly Peru. Seeing the unbelievable Machu Picchu in the breathtaking Andes was definitely a significant highlight I can never forget.

A fat man doesn't eat poorly, so is the fat man's wife. Donkoi and I have been eating too well at home and out of the house in 2013. Our trophies of the year would be Le Bernardin, Le Grenouille, French cuisines in Canada and Peruvian food. Food is so deliciously adequate for us, and I have almost forgotten that there are people starving even in this country itself.

For all the moments I have bragged that life is not perfect, it was a good 2013... May 2014 continues the course to be another good year! Happy 2014, people!

xoxo...
