Photo Tree

I supposed that I contributed the fair share in the idea construction and execution, but Donkoi kept on insisting that he was the one that sparking off the idea of growing an "indoor tree" with photo frames, especially after the final product receiving plenty compliments from our friends. This scenario definitely sounds familiar. When there is no written evidence, people usually end up arguing for their right to the good result. For example, Mark Zuckerberg with his fellow friends, Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra. :-P

I seriously could not recall how the idea was brewed. Definitely, one of us started saying that it would be great to hang some of our photos in the living room when we went to the IKEA at Paramus for furniture shopping. (Yes, the same trip we bought my desk.) To my horror, I have spent my first two paragraphs recording about our "healthy debate" over "very important" details in our husband and wife life. Yikes!

My main idea of typing this post is to share with my dear readers on how we grew this tree at home with less than $100USD. (Though I know most of you are either my friends or my family, I still want to address you as my readers because they give me a sense that I am fulfilling my childhood dream as an author. Muahaha.)

You wouldn't believe how long we were standing at the photo frames session. There were many things to consider, like deciding the photo frame thickness, the photo frame colour, etc. Finally, we decided to purchase what you have seen in the photo. $3USD x 11. Why it is 11? *secret* pst.pst.

Then, the photo frame were abandon at the dark corner due to the exceptionally unnormal warm weather we had during the beginning of spring and our weekend travels. No one seem to pick up the momentum to finish what we began. At some moments during the procrastination, our mind was sluggishly trying to decide on whether we should paint the tree ourselves or buy the wall sticker. All the thinking was stopped when we saw a decently inexpensive wall sticker at the Walmart two weekends ago. It was $19.95USD for one whole tree.

Once we get the wall stickers, another piece of the puzzle was given to us - free 25 4R photo at Walgreens. Serendipitously, the tiles are all laid. We had our photos developed, then charged forward to build our tree. :) The one last thing we purchased for this indoor tree was the screw to hang our photo on the wall. That was $2USD from the home depot.

I would say that the effort, time and money were well spent as both of us occasionally will stare at the wall, smiling in eudemonia. :)
