Robbery in Queensbay Mall

Today, I went to CIMB branch in Queensbay, Penang. While waiting for my turn to do my transactions, I overheard a frustrated client claiming that he was robbed inside Queensbay Mall. He was suspecting that he was followed by the three youngsters right after he left the ATM machine. Tried hard to eavesdrop his complain to the branch manager about the whole story - I could not string the pieces together, thus, I am not going to try to elaborate the story here based on my random guessing. Just a friendly reminder that don't think you are safe even if you are inside the mall, watch out for your own property.

This crime was strategically arranged with strong motives and tactics. But, why these people can't use their talent to the best by helping the country to develop? I guess the phrase "learning from the best" is quite true. When the big boss in the country steals from the country legally, the citizens definitely learn from the best example in town.

Lately, I have been doing a lot of comparisons between Singapore to Penang. Both islands share the same historical background. Singapore has blossomed to the number 2 most favorite expat portal in the world. Penang is lagging behind to the world class standard. The statistic might claim that our crime rate is dropping. However, we care more than just the crime occurrence. We also concern whether the legal actions are taken against the criminals. We need a society with efficient operations are installed to maintain the peacefulness for all the good citizens.

Saw this almost everywhere in Singapore - well planned, well organized.
