Many many many things had happened in a year.
I was promoted as an Advanced Engineer. That was neither impressively fast nor giving a high raise of salary. Nevertheless, I considered that as a significant milestone in my working life. Thus, I celebrated it by eating KFC with my colleagues, who have helped in solving technical questions, lending a pair of hearing ears to listen to my problems and providing a cohesive working environment.
Less than a month after I heard of my promotion, I stepped my feet in San Jose Office as well as Santa Cruz Office after talking to the people in these two offices for years. The whole paper preparation took less than two weeks. I was very tired by the day before I was going to fly out of Malaysia. Besides the physical strain, I had to manage another emotional job departure from my most respectful mentor in the office. The day before I took off to US was the day I last saw my best mentor in Altera office. I could not remember my level of sadness on that day, but I remembered bidding him goodbye.
Assorted types of work keeps rolling in. As usual, it gave rooms of learning new knowledge. Transceiver is still a big mystery yet to be discovered a little bit more. Digital design is fun and exhaustive at the same time, especially when the FMAX is the constraint in the project. Guiding new engineers is adding a lot of thoughts on EQ. and triggering a lot of pondering moments. Nothing seems to be a piece of cake even after three years. Answering to these challenges is allowing myself to maneuver forward as a human as well as an engineer.
Other than working life, my activities in the company carry on. I am attempting to bend my old bone in Yoga class to the best I can, contributing my effort in community works, running on the treadmill and delivering speeches in Toastmaster meeting. Through these activities, I come to know more easy-going people, who share the common interest as me.
Another year to come, like my boss says. Happy Anniversary again, Leangz~** Keep working!
