28th Marc 2005

I woke up at 630am.
That was my first day of internship.
Nervous. Intel was a total stranger to me.

Sitting at the lobby of PG8 and waiting for my supervisor to pick me up....
[I had neither talked to him nor seen him previously. So, only God knows he is round or square.]
By the end of the day, I was only able to say "Hello" to him at the lobby as he had to attend an one-day course that day.
Around 9 o'clock, Kelvin (a colleague of my supervisor) came to pick me up to go to PG12 (my office).
Then, I followed him up to the level-2 and entered the card-accessed office.
"Wow..."
There were many cubicles and of course many employees.
"Hey, I came to join u guys for the next coming 12 weeks!" I shouted inside my heart.

As my supervisor was not around, I did not get to be introduced to any team members.
And, there were no neighbours around my cubicle to welcome me too.
[Didn't know why all the cubicles around me were haunted. Guess they were inferior to me?! Haha! Found out later that the whole team went to US.]
Then, Kelvin leaved me sitting in my cubicle with just basically nothing.
[I hate to be alone!!! I'm made to be around with people.]
This complete solitary killed me.
"Ellh!" [how is the sound of dead-pretending should be?]

Suddenly, the air-con seemed to blast stronger than the initial.
I swear the hours were terribly LONG.

Luckily, Kelvin dropped in my cube, letting me go early on the first day of my work.
Yippie! He was my saviour!
[But, he was not from my team and did not get to know him better. All I know about him - he is a Taiwanese. Why he was there? This is a very rude question to ask in Intel. Basically, Intel is very much integrated company, like...errgh... MALAYSIA. Haha!]

Why I choose to backtrack my internship when I am going to enter a new phrase of life with a new company?
May be it is because the memory keeps flashing back these few days
May be it is my first technical job.
May be it is my first 8 to 530 job.
May be it is the UNIX presentation of this afternoon reminding me the days of using UNIX to do my work in Intel.
May be it is because of the question regarding UNIX command line my classmate asked during my presentation.
May be it is the knowledge I gained throughout the internship.
May be it is the people I met along and come to treasure later....

Went teambuilding at War Museum.
I forgot which pervert was interested in my ass.
[Actually, I was climbing out of the tunnel and I was 101% sure that the photographer did not have any bad intention.]

Group photo.
My supervisor is second from left, CS Lee.

A bunch of great friends I came to know during my internship.
I will never forget the hazy day when we went hiking at Pantai Kerachut.
Say Keat's powerful handphone with long lasting battery, lingering all the old songs.
And, Yong Chun's "We are going to reach" motivation. :-DDD

[from left]Henry (Yi Si Heng), Kien Seen (Tai Si Heng) and Yoong Fuang (Tai Si Jie) were the people I worked closely with.
They really taught me a lot throughout the internship.
Initially, they claimed that they cannot differentiate whether "Ong Hui Leang" is a male or a female name.
Before I reported in, they even had a bet that whether I am a girl or a guy.
Okey. I am pretty sure they know now.
Our favourite activity was going to Karaoke at RedBox.
I only learned to like it during that time and I am missing it now.

The internet connection is pretty slow again.... Can't upload some photos that I intend to. May be I should do it on 28th Marc2007. :-P

Remember my dunno-what-i-do network assignment? My lecturer said "good" after our demo... Suddenly, I was so "proud" of our presentation skills. LieWei, Mak and MaoLei know what I am talking. He!He!
